
NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN HOTEL OPERATIONS
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is a two year programme that provides students with professional skills to operate in several departments hotel like food and beverage, food production, rooms department of a hotel. The programme is divided into 4 semesters. After the fourth semester students are subjected to a mandatory industry placement in different hotels in and around the East Africa community
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The aim of this course of study is to develop a range of knowledge, skills and techniques, personal qualities and attributes essential for successful performance in the hospitality industry. Emphasis is placed on acquiring practical skills. It prepares students to work as waiters/waitresses, bar attendants in conference and banqueting, rooms attendants, kitchen and many others.
Eligibility for admission for a National Certificate in Hotel Operations (NCHO)
Grades
- Eligible candidates should have completed Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 4 Passes one of which should be in English language or its equivalent
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have:
- ID of former school / institution
- Photocopies of certificates/ testimonials
- Three recent passport photographs
- Birth Certificate
