90 International Labour Organization (ILO) apprenticeship students graduate

A total of 90 International Labour Organisation (ILO) apprenticeship students were awarded certificates at Sheraton Hotel in Kampala after attending a one-year course in Hospitality related disciplines, including House Keeping, Front Desk Operations, Food and Beverage and Food Production.

The graduands who included refugees and members of the host communities pledged to use the skills they have attained from UHTTI to transform their lives and those of people in the communities they live in. The event was graced by the Minister for Labour, Gender and Social Development, Hon. Betty Among, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Karin Boven, president of the Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA) Susan Muhwezi, Principal of the Uganda Hotel and Tourism Training Institute , Richard Kawere and officials from ILO, among others.
