CERTIFICATE IN HOTEL OPERATIONS

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is a two year programme that provides students with professional skills to operate in several departments like food and beverage, food production, rooms department of a hotel. The programme is divided into 4 semsters. After the fourth semster students are subjected to a mandatory industry placement in different hotels in and around the East Africa community

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The aim of this course of study is to develop a range of knowledge, skills and techniques, personal qualities and attributes essential for successful performance in the hospitality industry. Emphasis is placed on acquiring practical skills. It prepares students to work as waiters/waitresses, bar attendants in conference and banqueting, rooms attendants, kitchen and many others.

REQUIREMENTS

A candidate must have attained 4 passes at ”O”. English is a must

Applicants must have:

  • ID of former school / institution
  • Photocopies of certificates/ testimonials
  • Three recent passport photographs
  • Birth Certificate

FEES STRUCTURE

Tuition and functional fees for Ugandan students – 632,300/= per semester

Tuition and functional fees for international students – 992,000/=

Development fee – 200,000/= paid once

Welfare fees:

a) Resident students: (Accommodation and meal 750,000/= per semester

b) Non resident students 150,000/= (lunch)a day per semester
